今日の英会話

今日はいつもより時間が短くて、あまりよもやま話ができなかったけど、先週休んだので久しぶりの英会話楽しかったです。

●see, look, watchのちがい
【see】目を開いていたら見えるものすべて、とくに限定しない
I can see the mountain from my house.
I can see the Kyoto Tower from the station.

【look】（短期間のものに）注意を向ける
Look at the child!
Look at this dress! It’s so pretty.
Look at that car! It’s so cool.

【watch】=observe（長めに）注意をむける、観察するような意味にも使う
I’m going to stay home and watch TV tonight.
I went to a theather to watch Slumdog Millionaire.

●interestedとinterestingの使い分け
I am interested in reading books.(人が主語)
This book is interesting.（物や動物なんかが主語）
She is an interesting person.（人が主語、この場合はadjectiveとして）

●Till,Until,byの使い分け
【Till】と【Until】は同じ、「〜まで」継続した期間
I will stay home until I finish watching this TV program.
(↑これあってるかな？）
finishって前置詞なしでいきなり〜ingなのか！こういうのが難しいなー。

【by】「〜までには」完了
× I will send you an email to you until next wednesday.
○ I will send you an email to you by next wednesday.
メールを水曜日までに出せばよいので、火曜日でもOK。

●LとRの発音のちがい
Rは舌を後ろにもってく。Lは後ろにもって行かずに上につける？
