今日の英会話

今日は、いろいろおしゃべりしてメールの添削をしてもらうのも忘れてしまいましたが、気功の話、私の友達の話、ニュースの話、ゲームの話などしました。

【いろんな表現】いろいろあるから少しずつ覚えよう！
take off→離陸する、脱ぐ I took my clothes off. Take off your clothes.
put off→脱ぐ、捨てる、延期する（=postpone）
　　　　He put the meeting off./ The meeting was postponed.
put on→着る、置く、太る put on weight（=fat）反：lose weigh
call off→断る、中止する（=cancel）I call off the reservation of the hotel.
put out→消す、イライラする、恥ずかしい(=embarrass)、
　　　　He put out the fire./ He put me out.=He embarrassed me.
see off→見送る、I went to the station to see my friend off to say good bye.

【keepの表現】
Keep it up! その調子でがんばって！=continue
keep an eye 目を配る、見落とさない=be careful
keep to oneself 内にこもる、人付き合いを避ける、He keeps to himself.
秘密にする、Please keep it yourself.

【おもしろい表現】
out of the blue→突然に、思いがけなく=suddenly,unexpectedly
　　　　　　　　My friend came home unexpectedly. It’s so out of the blue.
このblueは空の青さのようです。晴天のへきれきと同じ感覚で生まれた表現なのでしょうね。きっと。

【くい違い】
人気者って言いたくてHe is idol.といったらHe is idel.と伝わってしまい、しばらく会話が？？？になってしまいました。似てますねー。
